Green Couch — a team of talented individuals, working together to create interiors that are sophisticated, relaxing and inspiring. Quality is not just a major tenet of our craft, but a measure of our daily pursuit. An appreciation for our clients, family, friends and the work itself propels us to reach higher, work harder, and respect each other.
Company founders and designers Tray and Jeff Schlarb started Green Couch in 2002 in response to their complete love affair for interiors, homes and property. Tray's childhood was spent on building sites throughout the Natal and Western Cape provinces of South Africa. Alongside her mother, who is a builder and sales agent of luxury homes. Jeff Schlarb is fully engaged with how a home's subtleties should be viewed, experienced and interpreted. He wants to create homes with an approachable elegance that are calming and articulate in terms of material choices.
Our organization has managed to collect 'amazing' individuals. Lilly Maybank joined green couch in the summer of 2011 and has accelerated our ability to service interior design clients. Her ability to work with design show rooms, organize and interact with clientele makes us a better, brighter organization.
JoAnn keeps the office management in tip top shape! While, Bruno keeps order and holds court in the Warehouse.
Iron Man Moving also should be mentioned as well as The Wright Gardners, who continue to inspire us via their support, perseverance, fortitude and commitment to quality.
Lastly, the most important members of our organization... our clients. We're serious! Working alongside the most charismatic, conscious, driven, creative, healthy, intelligent and inspiring people make us say 'Thank You' on a daily basis. Upward and Onward. |

History: |
 |
|
On a sunny day, in a city by the bay, an interior design company decided to encourage their mascot to travel. A conscious effort was made to invite experience and to educate the green couch. Life can become quite stuffy and boring gazing out and seeing dining tables and interior colors all day.
Along the way she met many friends, dodged tourists and homeless, sought out crafty new ideas, stopped traffic and danced. "She's so GREAT!", exclaimed passers by in the Marina. "May we sit with her?", people inquired. One of the company's interior designers and founders, Tray Schlarb, was quoted saying, "I believe it was good for her, to stretch her boundaries and promote acceptance of surroundings that she had not been exposed to before. In addition to that I think people really enjoyed her company."
